Company has come.... and gone...

Last week we were blessed to be able to spend time with my sister Rebecca, her hubby George and 7 of their 9 children. They arrived here Friday, July 30th around noon and left around 8 AM on Friday August 6th. We had a wonderful visit and Lord willing, hope that maybe we can do it again sometime!

Friday night Peter took George, Logan, Colson, Brooklyn, and Daniel to a tractor pull. They had a lot of fun there, and they even got in for free, thanks to a service call Peter got! :) Rebecca and I and the rest of the kids stayed home and watched Cars and visited. Saturday we mostly just hung around home chatting and enjoying each other's company The kids caught a few frogs and were pleased about that... Sunday was church of course. George and Rebecca went to Southwest PRC so she could hear Rev denHartog preach again, and then Grandville in the evening. I stayed home in the evening due to a couple crabby, over-slept kids. Monday we headed downtown to the Grand Rapids Children's museum and had a blast! I'm really considering getting a membership there so we can go there whenever without it getting too pricey. There was a lot for the kids to do and they all had fun, including Logan who's 14. Monday night we had a game of Kick-the-can and we even convinced Peter to play! He thought it was more of hide and seek at first, but he got the hang of it. LOL  Tuesday we had a park day for anyone that wanted to visit with George and Rebecca, and that was ok, but Matthew was certainly not a happy camper. I think it was just too hot for him. Wednesday I had a home day after taking Kimberly to the dr for her bum rash (turns out it's impetego SP?), while George and Rebecca did a little visiting. Thursday we headed to the zoo for Kids day ($1 admission) and it was CRAZY busy so we went through quickly and then headed home. It was also Thavin's second birthday so we had ice cream cake after supper and sang to him. (He's so cute!) and then Friday morning it was time for good-byes again. Friday was a rough day for me. I was dealing with a little depression before they left already and having to say good-bye was really tough. It's hard not knowing when I'll see them again, and knowing that there's a good possibility that Kaliyan may be walking and talking before I see her again. So sad.

Anyway, after it's all said and done, we couldn't have asked for it to go any better than it did with 16 people in our little house for a week with only one bathroom and we hope to be able to do it again! They're headed home from Ontario this week, and we pray that they experience a good trip back and a joyful reunion with Jordan, and Austin when he returns from Convention.

Thursday night Chantelle and Austin arrive for Convention next week, so I'm excited about that. Austin leaves again on the 24th and Chantelle on Sept 7th. Should be a good time! :)
