Since last posting, a lot has happened! We were finally able to move in over labor day weekend. Moving in went fairly smoothly- one night we took the bulk of the stuff on 2 big trailer loads and at least had beds that first night. My sister stayed an extra week after convention to help us out- which was a HUGE help. By the time she had to leave, most of the important stuff was unpacked and we were feeling very much at home. We LOVE it here! The boys have so much room to run and explore, I love the bigger kitchen and the view and Peter loves having his own land to play on. God has blessed us richly!
On December 16, 2011, we were blessed to welcome Nathan Mark into our family. He was born at home at 9:28AM into his daddy's waiting hands. Our midwife was 20 minutes late, as he came quite quickly. The
experience was amazing and I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I will be posting again with the whole birth story. He weighed in at 10lb, 2oz and 22 inches long. Nathan has been such a blessing and is loved by all his siblings! We are so thankful!
Matthew is now 2 years old! He is such a sweet natured little boy and talks like he's 4. His favorite things are Nathan, Sparky, playing outside and snuggling with mommy and his silky. He is an incredible joy to have around and knows how to make us all laugh. He is also our only child with really curly hair- and I love it!
Kimberly is now 3 1/2 and growing up into quite the little lady. She loves to wear jewelry, play with her babies and hold Nathan. On the flip side, she also loves to play outside with her brothers and get
super dirty right along with them. I cannot believe that 4 years ago, I was just beginning the bedrest. She is such a blessing!
Lucas is almost 6! He has been doing really well- just went for his 6 month ear check and he has been infection free for those 6 months! The longest stretch since he was 2 without infections! He LOVES bombing around on his bike and playing in the sand box.
Daniel is almost 7 now, and can't wait until he is! He keeps asking me how many more days until his birthday. He loves cooking- eggs on the griddle and cooking the hamburger for sloppy joes or spaghetti, and he loves doing dishes. He is growing up so fast! Outside, he loves helping Peter when he can and just doing typical boy stuff. They figured out how to make fishing poles from sticks, baler twine and paper clips, so if you can't find him around, he's usually gone fishin'.
Caleb is 8! I cannot believe how fast the last 8 years have gone! He is getting so much older and more responsible. He also loves to cook when he can and do dishes. He also likes to help out with the younger
kids when needed- loves having responsibilities. He loves legos and they are a great imagination release for him. He is reading better- but doesn't like to pick up a book to read himself yet. I am hoping he learns to love reading for fun.
I am doing ok. The busyness of life with 6 young children can be hectic and at times over whelming, but for the most part things go well. I still enjoy sewing when I can- which doesn't seem like it's often enough sometimes- and snuggling with the littles.
Peter has been steady with work all winter and we are so thankful for the work provided. His busy season is coming up soon, so we try take advantage of the slower days and eat together as often as we can. This
summer is looking like it's going to be quite busy for him, so family time will be at a premium. He tries to keep the boys busy with him when he can and they love working with him.
We hope to get some critters this summer- specifically pigs and chickens. We currently have 4 pigs we are feeding out and we are going to be getting another bunch in the next month or so. Our egg consumption is crazy so we're wanting a bunch of chickens for eggs. We're starting to plan our garden and figure out what seeds we're going to be needing. We are excited to see what this year brings us as a family and are so thankful for the blessings already given.
